There’s Plenty of HOPE for Students with Learning Disabilities

The 2020-21 school year is already proving to be a challenging one thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. School looks entirely different this year, and in some cases it’s different from district to district within each state. Most schools across the country are starting with at least some type of hybrid plan with in-person classes some days and remote learning the other days; some schools are starting with entirely remote-based education. There have already been many schools open and then shut down quickly because of positive COVID-19 cases. It’s a lot for students (and parents) to handle…especially students with learning disabilities.

Many students with learning disabilities or individualized education plans (IEPs)–whether they’re dealing with ADHD, the autism spectrum, dyslexia, or a general lack of focus or concentration in the classroom–have a tough enough time during a normal school day or year. Add the chaos and uncertainty of this particular academic year to the equation, and that’s a very difficult situation for these kids to be facing.

As a parent of a child with learning difficulties, are you comfortable with potentially shuttling your child into school and then home again if and when schools close? If not, Bridgeway Academy has the solution for you: our Total Care HOPE for Learning Disabilities program.

What’s the mission of HOPE?
At Bridgeway, we strongly believe that children learn the most, (and the best), when they enjoy the actual process of learning. Designed as a unique combination of learning therapy, customized curriculum, and academic support, the Total Care HOPE program helps your child rediscover their love of learning, which in turn allows them to thrive in school.

The Total Care HOPE program was designed to do more than just treat learning disabilities…it actually creates new neural pathways that increase learning capacity and help students overcome the difficulties they face with school. We work with students who have been diagnosed with autism or who are on the spectrum, ADHD, and other disorders, but the Total Care HOPE program is also ideal for those without a diagnosis, who simply struggle with memory, concentration, focus, reading, writing, and learning in general.

What is included in the HOPE program?
The Total Care HOPE program begins with an comprehensive evaluation of your child to determine the root cause of the learning issues. From there, you can choose from our textbook- or online-based HOPE options for elementary, middle school, and high school. Each choice includes:

  • A full year of online courses (five core classes) or textbook curriculum customized to
    your child’s specific needs.
  • Nine months of individualized healing sensory integration therapy from Essential Learning Institute.
  • A complete suite of academic and memory tests to ensure the correct fit.
  • Learning style, personality style, and environmental assessments to determine the right curriculum choices for your student.
  • Unparalleled support from expert homeschool advisors every step of the way.
  • Accreditation, so you know your child’s education is of the highest quality and recognized by colleges around the world.
  • A full year of record-keeping, including report cards, transcripts, permanent records, honor roll, and a diploma upon graduation.
  • Resources to ensure you and your child have an incredible academic year.

What can you expect?
Of course, every child is different, so there are no guarantees when it comes to how successful each student will be or how quickly he or she may show improvement–that goes for any type of schooling. But we’re confident that, if you and your child are fully committed to the program every day, you will notice an increase in confidence and improvements in daily interactions at around the six-to-eight-week mark. The goal of Total Care HOPE is to bring your child to his or her learning potential.

With hard work and dedication to the daily therapy, by the end of the nine months, you should notice gains in both visual and auditory processing and memory as well as improvements in reading and spelling.

School for children with learning disabilities can be challenging enough. Add to that the uncertainty, potential disruptions, and confusion of the 2020-21 school year, and these students are facing a very difficult uphill battle. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. Take your child’s education into your own hands with Bridgeway’s Total Care HOPE program, and bring the love of learning back to your child and the classroom.
