Wisconsin State Homeschool Law Summary

If you are homeschooling in the state of Wisconsin, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Inform the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for every child you plan to homeschool. The form becomes available on July 1st and must be submitted by October 15th each year. Click here to see the electronic filing form.
  2. Record your school hours. Students between ages 6-18 must have at least 875 hours of sequentially progressive curriculum of fundamental instruction in reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and health.
