District of Columbia State Homeschool Law Summary
If you are homeschooling in the state of Washington DC, you need to follow these steps:
- File a written notification to homeschool. This form must be provided by the OSSE and be completed annually by August 15th. Click here to view the online form.
- Provide evidence of academics. You must:
- Have at least a high school diploma or GED to qualify as a legal guardian teacher.
- Maintain a portfolio showing the child’s academic progress.
