Meaningful connection for tomorrow’s leaders.
When your student is enrolled at Bridgeway Academy, you can be certain they’ll get an outstanding academic education through our homeschool programs, academics and curriculum. But that’s not all they’ll get. They’ll also be given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate and to become the kind of people that do big things in our small world. In short, they have the opportunity to become community focused.
Our homeschool forum, high school student council, and collaborative classes are just the start to this leadership training. Through our unique homeschool program, we require all of our high school students to complete no less than 60 hours of community service before graduation. Not because we have to. Because we want to. Because we know there are some critical life skills that people just can’t learn from a book or online class. Like compassion. Humility. And kindness.
Developing lives of service that make an impact.
Bridgeway’s community service initiatives will give your child a sense of belonging and fulfillment that comes from being part of something bigger than themselves–something that makes a difference in the lives of others.
Your child will have opportunities to participate in Bridgeway organized service projects or serve in a place of their choice.
And this is good for your child because they will reap even more benefits from their efforts because colleges and universities want to see community service on a student’s transcript. Community service projects come in all shapes and sizes. Through our homeschool forum and community service programs, the following reflects just a handful of ways your student may choose to fulfill their community service requirements:
- mowing lawns
- cleaning up the community
- visiting nursing homes
- preparing meals for the homeless
- serving at the special Olympics
- participating in a mission trip
If your family values community service, you’ll feel right at home at Bridgeway. Read our online reviews for more information and give us a call at 800-863-1474. To get a sense of our community, please check out our Facebook and Twitter pages. We know you’ll love it.
