Bridgeway Homeschool Academy ~ Flexible, Supportive, Individualized

“Your method has made it easy to teach kindergarten material to my child. It has also made it fun for my child to learn her math and reading. She was so motivated, she even asked for more homework each day! Thank you.”

Saxon Homeschool Math

One of the most popular homeschool math programs, Saxon presents math in a cyclical format by introducing new skills, while constantly reviewing prior skills.

In 1979, John Saxon started publishing math textbooks designed to teach new math concepts while constantly reinforcing old. That constant reinforcement is the hallmark of the Saxon mathematics curriculum, and producing textbooks that focus on skills, not pretty pictures, calculator use, or group work. Because of its focus on individual skills rather than group interaction, it is a terrific option for a home school.

Saxon Homeschool Math is unique because the entire program is based on introducing a topic to a student and then allowing the student to build upon that concept as they learn new ones. Topics are never dropped but are instead increased in complexity and practiced every day, providing the time required for concepts to become totally familiar.

Saxon homeschool kits divide concepts into smaller, more easily grasped pieces called increments. A new increment is presented each day and students work only a few problems involving the new material. This approach works well for homeschooling elementary school, middle school and high school aged kids. The remaining work consists of practice problems involving concepts previously introduced. Thus, every assignment (and every test) is a cumulative review of all material covered up to that point. It makes teaching and learning simpler and more straightforward.
