Below is a brief summary of the homeschooling law in Wyoming.
Compulsory School Age
“whose seventh birthday falls on or before September 15 of any year and who has not yet attained his sixteenth birthday or completed the tenth grade…”

| Legal Option: | Establish and operate a home school *An instructional program provided to more than one family unit does not constitute a home-based educational program. |
| Attendance: | Public and private schools must be in session for 175 days. However, the statute is vague regarding whether this applies to home-based educational programs. |
| Subjects: | A “basic academic educational program” that provides a “sequentially progressive curriculum of fundamental instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, civics, history, literature, and science” |

| Notice: | Annually submit to the local board of trustees a curriculum showing that a “basic academic educational program” is being provided |

Alternative Statutes Allowing for Home Schools:
Wyo. Stat. § 21-4-101(a)(iv).
If a home school is “one operated under the auspices or control of a local church or religious congregation or a denomination,” it may be regarded as a parochial, church, or religious school. Such schools are exempt from state regulation pursuant to § 21-2-406. “Nothing contained in W.S. 21-4-102(b), 21-2-401 or 21-2-406 grants to the state of Wyoming…any right or authority to control, manage, [or] supervise…any parochial, church, or religious school which meets the requirements of W.S. 21-2-406(a).”
