“Thank you for your expeditious response. We are looking forward to another bright and fulfilling school year at Bridgeway Academy. Once, again thank you for all your expertise and assistance.”
Lisa, Bridgeway Parent
As many as one in three students will experience the pain of a learning disability. As the parent of a child who struggles with learning, you have seen frustration, disappointment and defeat. Your heart breaks for your child because you know they have gifts and abilities that they can’t see in themselves. You are willing to do anything to see your child succeed but just don’t know where to turn.
You need an educational partner who takes an individualized, caring and proven approach with its students.
At Bridgeway Academy, we understand the difficulties that a learning disability brings. And we have seen countless students overcome their struggle and go on to succeed.
Our proven approach centers around your child. It starts with your personal advisor who works with you from the beginning to provide direction, encouragement and expertise throughout the school year.
Your child’s tailored program includes:
- A customized learning path
- Resources to address learning gaps
- Flexibility in testing and assessment
- Supplemental activities that help fuel your child’s passion for learning in areas that interest him
- Testing at the end of each semester to ensure that your student is making progress at the pace that makes sense for her
- An academic program that is not set in stone—your advisor can work with you to adjust your child’s program at any point during the school year
Special Attention for Special Needs
Shea is the parent of a 12-year-old boy with ADD who struggles with memory and retention. She heard about Bridgeway’s successful track record in working with students who have special needs. After a detailed assessment, we recommended an upbeat, colorful curriculum to engage him and retain his attention, coupled with a mastery-based curriculum that focuses on repetition and review. After just one year, this customized approach, coupled with the ELI therapy, has her son enthusiastic about learning and working at age-appropriate comprehension levels.
Learning Disabilities can affect every aspect of your child’s life. From self-esteem to communication to organization and stress, you see the ways that learning disabilities hold your child back from reaching his or her potential.
And many have accepted that learning disabilities cannot be corrected.
But the truth is very different. Over the years, through our partnership with Essential Learning Institute, we have seen how technology has made it relatively easy to correct most learning problems.
ELI is an easy-to-use, computer-based sensory integration learning therapy program developed to retrain the brain and develop the pathways necessary to effectively learn and retain information.
The Essential Learning Institute program improves and often corrects the following learning disabilities and difficulties:
- ADD (attention deficit disorder)
- ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
- Language-based learning disorders
- Speech-language problems
- Sensory integration
- Central auditory processing
- Visual processing
- Nonverbal learning disability
- Slow learners
- Reading/reading comprehension
Special Note: Lyme Disease and Learning Disabilities
As we are learning more about Lyme disease and the symptoms involved we are finding more and more opportunities to work with and help families affected by this difficult disease. Lyme’s Disease can and does cause Learning Disabilities.
When ELI’s one-hour daily therapy is coupled with Bridgeway’s customized curriculum and support, you will see definite improvements in your child’s learning and day to day activities, including:
- Improved reading and comprehension.
- Improved communication and organization.
- Easier study and homework.
- Increased confidence and self-esteem.
- Less stress.
Bridgeway now offers scholarship funding (toward the cost of the Essential Learning Institute) to Bridgeway students whose test results indicate a need for this powerful learning therapy program.
