The Homeschool
Advisor -
The Homeschool Advisor is a weekly news
letter sent out to our Academy families. It highlights special
events or web sites to visit or just plain useful information. If
you are not receiving your Homeschool Advisor please contact your
advisor.
Cyber
Connection - Enrollment in a
home school program with Bridgeway Academy provides access
to the most exciting online educational site available today.
Complete
Accredited Home School Curriculum and Support -
Your tuition fees include a complete individualized,
mastery based, package of curriculum in Math, English, Science, Social
Studies and Word Building. Additional elective courses are available to
our homeschooling families at a 20% discount.
Placement Testing
- Placement testing for Math, English, Science and Social Studies
allows us to diagnose the specific needs of each student. As you know,
it is not uncommon for students to be at different levels in various
subjects. Our placement tests allow parents to develop an
individualized curriculum plan in collaboration with one of our academic
advisors.
Achievement Testing -
The California Achievement Test (CAT) is a nationally administered
achievement test. Preferably, the test should be administered in the
spring of the academic year. Several testing sessions are scheduled for
our third, fifth and eighth grade students. The testing site, test
administration, and testing result report are free of charge to
Bridgeway students. Parents pay only a minimal fee for the cost of the
test itself. Students in other
grades may take the CAT for a minimal fee.
Grade Reports and Record
Keeping -
At the completion of one quarter's work, the parent
will mail the graded curriculum tests to the Academy office. The grades are
processed and recorded on the student's transcripts and a report card is
mailed.
Lending Library -
In an effort to keep tuition costs as low as possible, score keys,
literature books, and resource books are provided on a loan basis. After
students have finished using the materials, they are returned to the
Academy Library for use by other students.
